Searching and Tagging First-Degree Contacts in LinkedClient

When working with first-degree LinkedIn connections, you can narrow your contact list using custom LinkedIn or Sales Navigator searches directly inside LinkedClient. This process allows you to identify specific people already in your network and tag them for faster future access.

Accessing the Filter for First-Degree Contacts

To get started, go to the Contacts panel in LinkedClient. Then open the filtering section. Scroll down to find the option that allows you to paste a LinkedIn search URL for filtering your existing first-degree contacts.

How to Build a First-Degree LinkedIn Search

Follow these steps on LinkedIn or Sales Navigator to generate the correct URL:

  • Use the search bar to look for people related to your criteria (e.g., people working at a specific company)
  • Select “People” as the result type
  • Apply the “First-degree connection” filter
  • Optional: Use additional filters such as “Current Company” for more precision
  • Copy the full URL from your browser once your search is ready

Using the URL in LinkedClient

Once you’ve copied the search URL:

  • Return to LinkedClient
  • Paste the link into the LinkedIn filter field under the filtering section
  • The system will compare your contact database against the search and display only matching first-degree contacts

For example, out of 200 total contacts, if only 16 match the criteria in your LinkedIn search, LinkedClient will show those 16 after applying the filter.

Tagging for Future Access

To avoid repeating the filtering process each time, you can tag the filtered contacts:

  • Select all filtered results
  • “Add Tag”
  • Enter a custom tag (e.g., “LinkedClient Team”)
  • Apply the tag to save that group for future filtering

Once tagged, you can remove the LinkedIn filter and simply filter by the tag whenever you want to access that group again.

Limitations to Keep in Mind

The filtering tool follows the same limitations as contact imports:

  • Up to 500 contacts can be included from a standard LinkedIn search
  • Up to 2,500 contacts can be filtered using a Sales Navigator search

Summary

This feature helps you:

  • Identify specific first-degree contacts from your LinkedIn network
  • Use LinkedIn’s filtering power without manually reviewing contacts
  • Tag and organize first-degree contacts for quick access and segmentation
