Understanding the Sales Cycle

Przemysław Przemysław

The LinkedClient platform introduces a modern, personalised approach to outreach by replacing generic batch campaigns with individual sales cycles. This feature is fundamental to how LinkedClient operates and plays a key role in enabling your AI assistant, Elsie, to engage with leads on your behalf.

What Is a Sales Cycle?

A sales cycle in LinkedClient is a tailored communication journey designed specifically for a single contact. Unlike traditional campaigns that treat all leads the same, each sales cycle is personalised, with its own sequence of actions, messaging, and timing.

The sales cycle includes all relevant touchpoints across multiple channels, such as:

  • LinkedIn messages
  • Email communications
  • Phone outreach
  • Meeting invitations

Each interaction is adapted to the contact’s role, industry, company size, and your sales goals, making outreach more relevant and impactful.

How Sales Cycles Work

Profile-Driven Setup

Sales cycles begin with your profile configuration. When you complete the “About You” survey and set your AI preferences, you define how Elsie should communicate on your behalf, including your tone of voice, working hours, supported languages, and preferred channels.

Triggered by Contact Import

When you add a contact, either manually or via LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, or a bulk import, a sales cycle can be initiated automatically. Elsie uses the contact’s LinkedIn profile, your stated objectives, and your settings to begin preparing outreach.

Multi-Channel Communication

Depending on which channels are connected in your account (e.g., Email, LinkedIn, Phone), Elsie uses those to carry out scheduled touchpoints throughout the sales cycle. This could include initial outreach, follow-ups, reminders, and meeting invitations.

Automated Progression

The system determines the best timing for each next action and moves the cycle forward until the contact replies, opts out, or completes the outreach sequence. All activities are logged automatically in the CRM, and the contact’s status updates in real time.

Individualized Messaging

Since each contact has its own unique sales cycle, every message is uniquely generated. Elsie adapts tone, language, and content based on the context of the lead, ensuring more personalised communication and improving response rates significantly.

Benefits of Sales Cycles

  • Eliminates the limitations of generic mass campaigns
  • Improves engagement with personalised, relevant messaging
  • Allows flexible configuration of AI tone, language, and communication cadence
  • Streamlines multi-channel outreach with automated actions and updates

Usage of Sales Cycles

Depending on your plan, you may have a different number of Sales Cycles in your Subscription. They are a fixed amount (unless the plan is upgraded). They do not renew or are being reset. Once you research (activate automation process) a prospect (whether they are 1st or 2nd degree), the Sales Cycle is used. Once the limit is reached, you can no longer work with any unresearched contacts. You can still work with contacts that had Sales Cycle activated in the past; activating it again does not count it for the second time.

We advise you to plan your Sales Cycles carefully (preferably with your Growth Manager) to get the best out of them and work only with relevant contacts.

Next Steps

Sales cycles are automatically created when you add a contact and set an objective. You can view, manage, or pause them at any time from your contact list. To learn more about configuring your AI settings or using specific outreach channels, refer to our related Help Centre guides.
