The tag system in LinkedClient is designed to help you organise your contacts efficiently, segment your outreach, and perform group actions with ease. Tags are applied both automatically and manually, giving you complete control over how you categorise your leads and clients.

What Are Tags?

Tags are labels that help group contacts with shared attributes or import origins. They make it easier to search, segment, and manage your database, especially when working with a large number of leads.

Default System Tags

When you first connect your LinkedIn account to LinkedClient, the system automatically imports all of your existing connections. These contacts will receive a default tag called “My Network”. This ensures that you can easily identify which contacts are already part of your personal LinkedIn network from the start.

Other default tags include:

  • Manual Group Import – applied when importing multiple contacts at once
  • Individual Import – applied when importing a single contact

Creating and Assigning Custom Tags

You can manually assign custom tags to any contact in the system:

  • Open a contact’s profile
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page
  • Add a new tag (e.g., “Custom”, “Luxembourg”, etc.)

Once saved, these tags become searchable filters, allowing you to group and take action on those contacts later.

Using Tags During Import

When importing contacts, particularly from LinkedIn Sales Navigator, you can assign tags during the import process. This is useful for categorising leads by source, region, or campaign. For example:

  • You import 68 contacts from Luxembourg
  • You assign them a tag like “Luxembourg” or “Lux_Prospects_Q3”
  • Once imported, you can filter by this tag to view or take action on that specific group

This is especially helpful when managing large campaigns or segmented outreach strategies.

Finding and Filtering by Tags

To locate contacts by tag:

  • Go to the Contacts section
  • Use the Tag filter to search by the tag you applied (e.g., “Custom” or “Luxembourg”)

Only contacts with the selected tag will appear, allowing for focused review or bulk actions such as activating sales cycles, updating objectives, or applying additional filters.

Why Use Tags?

Tags help you:

  • Stay organised across large volumes of leads
  • Segment by geography, import source, persona, or campaign
  • Efficiently apply actions to groups of contacts
  • Quickly find and track progress for specific groups

Whether you're managing inbound leads, outreach lists, or long-term prospects, tags give you the flexibility to tailor your workflow in a scalable way.
