Elsie, your LinkedClient AI assistant, offers customizable Language Instructions to tailor how she communicates in multiple languages. Whether you work in English, German, Polish, or another language, you can now provide Elsie with detailed tone and language usage preferences to ensure her communication style reflects your brand's voice and cultural norms.
What Are Language Instructions?
Language Instructions are specific rules you define for each supported language. These rules influence how Elsie translates, writes, or adapts messages in LinkedIn and Email channels, depending on the communication language of your contact.
For example:
- English: "Do not use formal phrases in communication. Use simple and direct words without any unnecessary adjectives."
- Polish: "Używaj form grzecznościowych przy witaniu się, np. 'Dzień Dobry' zamiast 'Cześć'" (This example shows that it's best to explain your language in your language, not in English or any other. Every language is different, and rules are different, so it's best to explain them in this language.)
How to Configure Language Instructions
- Navigate to Language Instructions from the left-hand menu in Settings.
- Select the desired language tab (English, German, Polish, etc.).
- In the text box, write clear and specific instructions for how Elsie should formulate communication in that language.
- Click “Save [Language] Instructions” to apply.
Where Language Instructions Apply
Language Instructions influence Elsie's behaviour in the following areas:
- LinkedIn Connection and Messaging
- Email Communication
- Message Review and Personalisation
These instructions work in combination with your Survey Guidelines, Self-Learning Writing Style Rules, and Autopilot settings. If you're operating in multilingual markets, Elsie will respect both the language-specific tone and the logic of your campaign.
Best Practices for Writing Language Instructions
As for an AI model, here are some tips for writing effective language instructions:
- Be specific: Instead of "write politely", try "avoid using casual slang and start with 'Dear Mr./Ms.'"
- Use examples: If tone matters, include sample greetings or message openers (e.g., "Start with 'Hi John,' rather than 'Dear Sir'").
- Avoid overloading: Use short, clear guidelines. Elsie interprets instructions best when they are focused and actionable.
- Adapt to the region: For example, in Polish, formal greetings may be expected; in American English, casual and warm tones may perform better.
Multi-language Communication Settings
To define which languages Elsie can use, navigate to the bottom of the AI Settings section. You can select multiple communication languages for Elsie to support.
Elsie will only use languages you explicitly select. If no additional languages are chosen, English will remain the default.
